Velo Ball 2014 is Nov. 1
SABA’s annual fundraising gala is the year’s best and biggest party for everyone who loves what bicycling does for our community.
Join us for a celebration of Dia de los Muertos at Beatnik Studios, an industrial workshop-turned-art gallery at 723 S Street near Southside Park.
You’ll enjoy a casual cocktail party atmosphere with great Mexican street food by Florez Bar & Grill: street tacos, tostadas, flautas, tamales, slider-style tortas, fresh churros and more (including vegan options).
The hosted bar will feature local craft beer from Bike Dog Brewing in West Sacramento, local cider from Two Rivers Cider, Northern California varietal wines from Cabana Winery in East Sacramento, plus non-alcoholic drinks and fresh coffee from Insight Coffee Roasters.
DJ Larry Rodriguez of the Press Club will keep the music going. And of course, SABA’s Bike Valet will park your bike for free.
Wondering about your bike ride home or how to travel car-light for the evening? We’re excited to partner with Uber to offer Velo Ball guests who are first-time Uber customers $20 off their ride that evening. The new UberXL SUV service can even carry your bike home, too! You’ll receive more information when you purchase your Velo Ball tickets.
The evening’s highlight will be the silent auction of local treasures and one-of-a-kind experiences, including:
– Getaways to Bolinas, Point Reyes and Mendocino
– Tickets to Disneyland, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Capitol Corridor
– Passes to the Sacramento Zoo, Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento Children’s Museum, and California Canoe & Kayak’s monthly full moon guided paddle on Lake Natoma
– Smokin GrOven wood-fired smoker/grill/oven built in Loomis, CA
– Personal trainer sessions
– Gym memberships
– Sports massages
– Original artworks and photographs by local artists
– Golf lessons
– Bike accessories and apparel
– Gift certificates to local restaurants & much more
Proceeds from ticket and auction sales help build SABA’s capacity to advocate for better bicycling infrastructure and policies, help public agencies, neighborhood organizations and businesses improve conditions for bicycling, and build a local culture that thrives on the independence and joy of riding a bike.
Party of 8: $400
Your ticket includes dinner and 2 drink tickets. Additional drink tickets are available for purchase at the party.
Tickets are available by advance purchase only. Click here to buy your ticket right now. We’ve sold out at the two previous Velo Balls — don’t miss out!
Enjoy Velo Ball as our guest by volunteering to help us make the party a big success. We need help with setting up, selling tickets, managing the silent auction and cleaning up afterwards. Learn more about volunteer jobs and how you can help.
