Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

We could use your help! It takes many volunteers to staff all the various events that SABA participates in. Won’t you help? It’s a lot of fun and a huge boost to making bicycling better in the Sacramento area. Click Here to see the current list of volunteer opportunities.

Are you a volunteer coordinator for another group?
We’d love to talk to you about how we can work together. Please call at 916-444-6600 or use our Contact page to get in touch.
Some of the things we do…
We offer free valet bike parking at dozens of community events throughout the year. During 2016 we’ll provide Bike Valet for over 15,000 bikes at 180 community events. Some of the most popular events include:
- Friday Night Concerts in the Park, Chavez Park, 9th & J streets, downtown Sacramento (starting in late April)
- Sacramento Republic FC home matches & friendlies, Bonney Field, Cal Expo (starting in February 2017)
- SactoMoFo Food Truck Mania at multiple locations. (starting in March)
- Midtown Farmer’s Market, 20th St. between J & K, Midtown Sacramento (starting in May)
We participate in an ongoing national effort to count bikes at key intersections four times a year.
These bike counts are used to show local decision makers and planners where people are riding. It gives us real numbers to put before public officials so we can make our case for improvements.
The counts are usually on a weekday evening from 4 to 6. No experience needed. We’ll teach you everything you need to know.
