About Zeffy
SABA has found a new fundraising platform that we have begun to implement into our mix. The new platform is called Zeffy and is specifically geared towards nonprofits like SABA and you may have seen it used at VelloBall, our new website donation pages and any new memberships being generated.
The platform is free to use by the nonprofit so when you donate $100 to SABA, SABA actually gets all $100 of your donation. There are no monthly fees SABA pays for the service and there are no credit card transaction fees withdrawn from the donation as all other software’s require. This makes the accounting side of your donations much easier to reconcile and allocate to the various programs your donations support.
There is, of course, a catch. All software requires some sort of revenue and the way Zeffy does that is by asking the donor to ‘Tip’ every transaction to cover their costs. This Tip is added to your donation so that $100 donation will actually cost you $110 if you tip them 10%. In all other software’s, your $100 donation would only net SABA $90 after all the fees were subtracted.
In the Summary section of each transaction, you will see the ‘Tip’ window. You can accept the default or change it to ‘Other’ and set your own rate. There is a link to a short Zeffy video explaining their process.
