Join us for a ride to sample the flavors of Latin America at restaurants in downtown Sacramento and the Gardenland neighborhood in South Natomas. Advance tickets are $30 each.

Paul Somerhausen, coordinator of SactoMoFo and Sacramento Epicureans, will introduce us to some classic Latin American flavors at Tacos la Piedad and La Flor De Michoacan on Northgate Blvd., 524 Mexican Restaurant on 12th Street near F St,, and Mayahuel at 12th and K streets.

We’ll depart from Mayahuel at 12th and K at 11 AM, ride north to the Sacramento Northern Bike Trail at C Street near 19th, across the American River into North Sacramento, and up along the Ueda Parkway into the Gardenland neighborhood. We’ll make two stops in the neighborhood, then head back to the bike trail and downtown to 524. We’ll finish our ride with a tasting at Mayahuel.

In addition to off-street bike trails, our route includes downtown and South Natomas streets with some Sunday traffic. We’ll mostly stay off the busiest streets, but we’ll be crossing Northgate and riding along that street for several blocks. A ride leader and sweeper bringing up the rear will keep the group together and make sure no one feels left behind. The pace will be casual and comfortable — 30 minutes is about the longest segment of riding.

We also provide portable bike racks and a valet bike parking attendant, so you easily park at each stop.

The ticket price covers the cost of all the food we’ll sample (drinks are extra). There are 25 spaces available for this ride and Paul’s tours always sell out quickly, so don’t delay!
