Join us for a ride to two of Sacramento’s newest wine destinations, Cabana Wines in East Sacramento and the recently opened Ficklin-Wilcox tasting room in Midtown.

We depart at 1 PM from in front of the McKinley Park branch library at Alhambra & F St. in East Sacramento. Our first stop is a tour and tasting at the soon-to-be-open Cabana Wines winery and bistro on Elvas Ave. near F Street, just north of H Street.

Cabana’s 2012 Sauvignon Blanc won a double gold medal at the California State Fair wine competition and its Pinot Noir won a gold medal at the San Diego International Wine Competition. The tasting is $10 per person and includes snacks and water.

We roll back to Midtown to our second and final destination, the Ficklin-Wilcox tasting room and kitchen shop on 20th Street between J and I streets.

We’ll sample Ports and table wines produced by Ficklin Vineyards, America’s oldest Port winery, founded in 1946. The tasting is $6 per person (the amount is credited toward the price of any bottle you buy).

About the ride: We’ll be riding at a casual pace (no more than 10-12 MPH) mostly on quieter, low-traffic streets. Please be sure you’re prepared to ride with traffic and by all means take what precautions you need to feel confident and safe. Volunteer ride leaders will help us get through intersections and stay together.

Tickets: There’s no charge for the ride itself, however, you’re responsible for tasting room fees. Bring prepared to present your ID at the tasting rooms.
